Vancouver Community Forums

Vancouver Community Forums are about creating conversations where information is exchanged, ideas are freely expressed, understanding is increased, connections are made, and ideas are created around common community interests.

Forum Events

Vancouver Community Forum Events may be created to begin a conversation, keep a conversation going, or engage more people in conversation. Forum events give people first hand information and opportunities for creating connections.

Some conversations may have a single presenter, some may have several presenters, some may be an experience. Conversations are moderated.

Forum Events will showcase ideas, initiatives, and contributions by community contributors and community-minded businesses.

Vancouver Community Forums will create and co-host events with other community contributors. Some events will have a fee. Some will be hosted.

Forum Reports

Information and ideas discussed at Forum Events are reported on the web site and to participants, appropriate government representatives, and everyone who asks to be kept informed.

Forum Reports may be connected to ThinkVancouver, the Vancouver Arts and Cultures Forum, the Downtown Eastside Community Arts Network, and other community networks and web sites to increase audiences and engage more people in the conversation.

Beginning the Conversation

Vancouver Community Forums launched by the Downtown Vancouver Association on November 8th at Centre A, the Vancouver International Centre for Contemporary Asian Art. The event was designed to begin the conversation about Vancouver Community Forums, how they might work, and what issues, ideas, and opportunities we want to create conversations around. Questions and ideas about how Vancouver Community Forums work, or could work, are appreciated
