An opportunity to explore and contribute ideas with
Vancouver's new Director of Planning

Brent Toderian thinks City building is a team sport and that we begin dialogues with what we want to create, not with what the rules are. He is a planner who believes in sustainability, creativity, beauty, diversity, collaboration, constructive candour, and holistic urbanism.

Brent served as Manager of Centre City Planning and Design for the City of Calgary where he led a team in visioning and policy, master planning, development design, architectural review, civic realm design, heritage planning, and special projects in areas of rapid growth.

He headed Calgary's comprehensive Centre City Plan, which combines design and planning issues with arts and culture, social planning, and economic development, and has been instrumental in introducing new approaches to sustainable design and growth.

Before joining the City of Calgary, Brent spent nine years as an award-winning city planning and urban design consultant consulting on a wide variety of residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use projects and created many municipal plans and strategies for Canadian cities.
