Robert Fung, the President of the Salient Group, has a passion for redeveloping and reinterpreting heritage buildings for modern, urban life and for bringing neighbourhoods back to vibrant and integrated communities.
This Heritage Vancouver fund-raising tour of properties developed by Robert Fung in Gastown will be led by Robert and Mark Ostry of Acton Ostry Architects, the architect on the projects. Robert will talk about his vision for Gastown and how the developments reflect that.
The walk begins in the courtyard of the Alhambra, home to Salientís offices at No. 6 Gaoler's Mews at 209 Carrall Street and one of Vancouverís oldest buildings. The walk ends at the recently restored Salt Tasting Room, the trendy Gastown charcuterie in Blood Alley

The tour will begin at 5:30 pm followed by a
private reception, hors d'oeuvres, and a sampling of wines at Salt at 7:00 pm
Thirty architects, developers and decision makers in the city with ideas about the future development of the area have been invited to join the tour and the conversation
To participate in a conversation around ideas
about using heritage restoration to revitalize an area,
contribute to Heritage Vancouver, and
have an enjoyable evening with other interested people.
