At 11:30 am on May 8th, Builders Without Borders will launch the Under One Roof redevelopment project of the Aboriginal Mother Centre Society. Just days before Mothers’ Day, we invite you to participate in this touching official launch ceremony.The Under One Roof project will tackle an extraordinary challenge – improving the health and well being of young, single Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal mothers and children dealing with poverty, substance abuse and family violence.
The 28,000 square foot building, at 2019 Dundas Street in Vancouver, will be redeveloped and will include 12 residential shelter units, kitchen and dining facility, day care centre for 24 children, and commercial space for a cooperative business to provide employment and revenue generating opportunities.
